What do the not-so-obvious ones mean? I'm beginning to think this isn't a 64, it has a 240/300 six in it!

Look at the photos in the members galleries to see the differences between 1964 & 1965.
1965 Serial Number Range: 580,001 thru 732,000.

* 1961/64's use either 223 or 262 I-6's / The intake/exhaust manifolds are on the drivers side.
# Ford used the A transmission code in 1965 for the New Process 4 Speed transmission also.

IT WAS AN 'A' CODE TRANS IN 500-1100 SERIES TRUCKS!!!!
IN 100 TO 350 TRUCKS ITS AN 'N' CODE TRANS....
This info is shown in the parts book...but a faster place to see this is in the 65 shop manual. book one, page 5, RH column...

I do recall once upon a time going to a dealer and being told I had a trans other then a NP when I presented then with my N code...
