96,Econoline,7.3,no start, installed new ford cps & has 5v nothing, checked fuel psi 45, oil psi 3000,all relays&fuses ok,no codes, pull test while cranking, cannot find inertia switch, checked at r kick panel this Eco is a motorhome so maybe its not used.Icp is ok & has 5v ref,Irp at this point can't get at it but with 3000psi at the rail it should fire.
i do not have a scanner that will perform injector solinoid tests.
Is their anyway i can check for power getting to injectors.
any ideas would be great.
ps is their an easy way to check for a bad Idm can a dealer bench chek them.

Few questions to check from the start. Does the tach move? does the wait to start light come on? The van has a mechanical fuel pump so no inertia switch. There isn't really an easy way to check the IDM. usually the best way is to replace it with a known good one and see what happens.
here is some more of the story,i was backing up, and it shut down not a lack of fuel shut down was an electrical cut out.
the scanner only shows codes, but tomarrow i will have acess to a scanner that has diag func.
Ok when you get that scanner look at ICP PSI, and IPR duty Cycle. ICP should be a minimum of 420 to start and IPR just report what you see when cranking. Also use the scanner to check for codes. And do a buzz test (injector electronics) if you can. The buzz test will let you in on what the IDM, wiring and injector solenoids are doing
yes i got a pro link scanner hooked it up put in all the info like year make engine then scrolled to different functions the scanner comes back with unable to talk with truck. so i hooked up the scanner to three other 250 with 7.3 i get the same responce.
so i went back to the Eco and performed a pin point test on the plug everything is ok with plug.
so the last thing i did yesterday i unpluged the ipr (a real bitch on an eco) pressure went down to a few hundred psi.
i think it is about time to send her to the dealer i don't have a break out box so its tough to do much more at least i think
Sounds to be electrical.
Could be a ground issue.
Recheck voltage supply to the IDM and PCM.
Be shure of voltage out on the relays with ign in run and start modes.
In the 96E, the IDM and PCM power is supplied by fuse links. "Load side of relay"
Signal side of relay is fuses.
For the hell of it did you try to start in netural?
Its a 96E. Is it OBD1?
In the power dist box all fuses are good and hot i swapped the relays around still nothing all fuses under dash are ok and except one it's not blowen but no juice on ethier side maybe it only gets hot during cranking if i introduce 12v on one side it cranks the engine the fuse is #7 for anti theft, trans range, park neutral and PCM???
I did check for refv through the pcm plug useing the grounds in that plug per Fords pin point sheet
I will check main power to the pcm and idm tomorrow
thanks for all the help o ya and GOD BLESS AMERICA
