hey guys, I normally spend all my time in the 7.3 forums but I'm now having a problem with my 03 explorer limited 4.6. the engine runs fine at speed but stalls at a stop light or in the middle of a slow turn when the rpms drop the engine just dies. it fires right back up but idles fast for a second and the drops off until it stalls. I pulled the codes with a AE scan tool and it has no codes, I run the engine running scan and it showed the Idle control valve. is this a common problem and what is the fix. Thanks for any info you guys can offer.

 

Yep, just change the valve. Happens a lot on crown vics.

 

Try changing the air filter; it worked for me.

 

You can also try cleaning the IAC. If that doesn't work, then replace it.
