transmission stand

Hi guys i am not sure if this is were to ask but i am planning to pull the motor and transmission out of my truck to replace the firewall. I have a stand for the motor to sit on but nothing for the transmission. I was thinking of building a cart similar to a creeper for the transmision. My question is, is it ok to let it sit on the trans pan or do i need to put support else whare and not put any weight on the pan. Any ideas are apreciated, Thanks Justin

I don't know if this right, but was fine for mine. Took it out sat it down straight standing up on it's bell housing on top of a little moving dolly. I cleaned her up and put her back in with no problems.

Justin, No need to build one unless you just want to. It will sit on the floor just fine. You can rest it on a creeper if you need to move it, or just slide it on the floor.

If your truck is an automatic with a slip yoke be prepared to pop another yoke in as soon as you pull the drive shaft as it will bleed fluid out of the tail.
