Sorry I posted yesterday about installing a nos gearbox with shaft. I was needing to know if its possible to take old gearbox and shaft out and putting new one in out the bottm of truck. I thought this would save taking linkage loose and sliding new one back in tube underneath. Thanks
It's been awhile since I removed mine...how high can you get the truck in the air?
You might have to remove some sinple things like the clutch spring brackets at the frame to clear a path, I dont know what motor setup you have but exhaust headers removed might make things easier...so if you could get the truck up on a lift so that your angle is right it might just be worth a shot.

As mentioned above you will have to get the truck up high enough to allow the shaft to clear everything underneath the truck. Take the steering wheel , pitman arm, tube clamp, screws that hold the box in then put it on a left you should be able to drop it.
