Home built box covers
Hi all, just wondering if anyone built their own tonneau covers? I am having a heck of a time finding one so I am looking for ideas or suggestions on how to make one.

I made mine for my truck also. Mine aren't as nice as sherms, I just rivited some aluminum channel and angle to the edge of the box and slide the plywood in. The front of the box you need to use channel and at the back of the box you can use the channel. Because the box isn't square you have to becareful when cutting the plywood for the back piece.

That is the way mine is and it keeps things pretty dry. Which really surprised me.

your channel steel was a good idea. the channel would catch most of the water and tunnel it towards the back of the box... now you need a bit of tubing to drain it out.

My Flareside box is pretty easy to work with...it's 48" by 81" between the rails. I think after this project, I am going to put in a hardwood floor...
