I did come across a picture online (heck if I can find it again!!) that had a wood floor in a newer Ford truck. It looked like he used laminate and made it to fit around the wheel wells and then routered it nice and smooth around all the edges. I don't recall if there was any visible bolts, but there were no metal strips like the classic trucks had.
I am considering a similar design, and being a Flare side, I can just slide in the tongue in groove flooring as it is also 48" lengths, and have a nice chrome retaining strip at the tail gate.
looks good brad, nice work. did you glue the nougahide to the plywood at all?? you'll notice that it'll stretch and billow in the wind if you don't... just some food for thought.
