It's a Flareside so the box is flat on all 4 sides making it pretty straight forward for putting in the wood floor

It is, I bought a 4x8 sheet and cut off 15 inches and it fit almost perfectly. Its 48" front and back by 81" long.

I did come across a picture online (heck if I can find it again!!) that had a wood floor in a newer Ford truck. It looked like he used laminate and made it to fit around the wheel wells and then routered it nice and smooth around all the edges. I don't recall if there was any visible bolts, but there were no metal strips like the classic trucks had.

I am considering a similar design, and being a Flare side, I can just slide in the tongue in groove flooring as it is also 48" lengths, and have a nice chrome retaining strip at the tail gate.

My flush mounted tonneau is complete.

Parts include 1 4'x8'x3/8" plywood,
3-2 by 4's,
a small bag of deck screws,
2.25 metres of Naugahide and
about 3 hours effort.

Not sure how to post the link to my album, but click on my user name and go to my galleries and it's in there...

looks good brad, nice work. did you glue the nougahide to the plywood at all?? you'll notice that it'll stretch and billow in the wind if you don't... just some food for thought.
