2007 alignment trouble

I am just curious if any body else is having problems with the front end of there trucks being out of alignment. On my dads truck the top of the tires are out more than the bottom causing the outside of the tires to wear. Keep in mind the truck only has 22,000 and some change miles. It has not been modified at all so I am guessing it is something from the factory.

No, I have 33,000 on my ,07 and have not had any issues with alignment or uneven tire wear.

Is it just the outside edge or both edges that are wearing?

Didn't really have any issues with my 07, but I rotate my tires every 6k or so and had it aligned at an independent shop at 17k, definitely handles better after the alignment.

With a 2" leveling kit, I'm guessing they installed new cams/bushings to correct the caster.....not the camber.

Camber isn't effected by the leveling kit, but caster does go closer to 0* (more negative) with a leveling kit.

The caster cams are included with some leveling kits for that reason.

I will get some pics tomorrow of the tires and then maybe somebody can tell me if the truck needs to be realigned and the tires replaced or rotated.

If it's a 2wd, I would definitely have it aligned with those miles on it.

I'm wondering why you wouldn't want to have your truck aligned and tires rotated? It's normal maintenance.

Sometimes they have a special 'works' maintenence pkg that includes that, but usually the tires don't get included in normal 'oil change' maintenence - at least not at my dealer...

Here are the pics

The first one is of the passenger front tire it has the chunks taken out on the side and is worn in the middle

The second on is of the driver front tire it is worn on the side only.

The question now is should I go ahead and replace the tires or can I just rotate the tires and have the truck realigned.

The "worn in the middle" tire is probably overinflated. Put less air in your tires. The gouge is caused by contact with something.

The "worn on the side" tire may be an alignment problem, a suspension problem (worn ball joints) or an underinflated tire (if the inside and outside are worn, can't tell from the picture).
