Well,I'm finally gonna do it.. I am looking to install either a chip or a programmer to go along with my stage 1 intake and 4" turbo-back exhaust.I would really prefer not to have to install a gauge package and need to know which monitors show all you would get in the gauges. I have no preference as to whether I should get an Edge, bully dog,Banks 6-gun or what, just whatever works best..I use my rig as a daily driver,75%, and towing an 8500# travel trailer over all kinds of terrain for about 25% of the time..Heck,even pulling into my backyard is a 7%,225 foot uphill pull to park it.
DP Tuner gets the best reviews for the 7.3. You could get a single gauge that monitors everything if you are not wanting the 3 or 4 gauge pillar pod. BTW if you get the 4 gauge pod you can put the DP tuner control in one of the gauge holes.

Another vote for DP-Tuner!
No other chip compares! Nuff said!
That's why as soon as I get my kickback from Uncle Sam, I'm getting one!
No Start, Stock (I'll never use that), 60 Tow, 80 Econo, and 120 Race.
I just sent the info sheet to them and we'll soon see.It is a bit difficult to get info straight off their website when they ask you what PCM or whatever.. I just want a unit that an older computer illeterate person can install...
Heck,I just fixed a 1955 Desoto hemi so it would run for a guy that I know that had to have it trailered home after he bought it...There were several young guys there and one of them wanted to know how I knew how to do what I did and by ear..Told them that I learned how to drive on my folk's '55 that was identical to this one and we didn't have electronic instruments to hook them up to. All we had was a timing lite and then mostly we set them by ear..
I'm gonna have to agree with these guys, go with the DP-Tuner, just don't forget to make sure you have all of the tunes you will actually want! I forgot to add the 100hp performance tune and I regret it all the time because even the 80e feels so nice. And as far as gauges go, I am not a fan of having 35 gauges all over the cab. I went with the aeroforce scan guage. So far I like it, it displays almost everything I need right out of the box, and it accepts two analog inputs for things you want to add like EGT or a MAP sensor for boost (it will read boost as it is but since you will likely have an overboost eliminator, it won't read properly).

You'll wonder why you ever waited.....
So you don't have a DP Tuner chip yet and what other brands have you used or tried?
I have tried 5 different brands DP tuner being one and Tony Wildman. Tony's tuning is much quieter, smoother and more responsive.
For those that don't know Tony he is TotalDieselPerformance.com and started about the same time Jody did. They were both under Bill's wing when he was fading out.
Tony is the man when it comes to the 7.3. Fantastic tunes and best of all he doesn't charge you for reburning your chip as you will need done once you start modding more.

Does Tony have access to the F5 style chip or is it rotary dial?
