Tow mirror install

I thought I remember seeing a link for a install of the '08 tow mirrors on here the other day but I cant seem to find it now(been looking for an hour on dial up). Anybody have any info on this? I'm looking to install a set with the turn signal and heat on my '03. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be doing this install this week. I'll let you know how it goes. Looking forward to getting rid of my current faded/chipping tow mirrors!

Just a friendly reminder guys. Don't throw your old mirrors away even if they are faded or chipped. There may be a fellow member here that needs all or part of the mirror to help them out.

I just finished my install. Very easy. Only unposted info I can add is that on mine, I had to hacksaw a little tab off the mounting pad of the new mirrors. It's just a locator plastic pin. Wiring is all pretty simple. I used a male and female 4 pin trailer plug for the through the door wiring. Worked out awesome. So if I want to take off the mirrors for whatever reason, just unplug and reconnect. No cutting wires.

Oh yeah.. I also bought this stuff by VHT called Nite Shade from Summit to black out the amber lenses. It turned out alright. Very hard to make it consistent on the left and right, but for $12 rather than $90 for Recons, it was worth a shot.

i LOVE the lights!!! I know there's another member that did the "behind the grille" installation, but my question is:

How well do they work?
Is there a noticeable loss of lighting due to the light being obstructed by the grille?

The mirrors look good, but that lighting setup is AWESOME!!!

Yes, I did rob BearHunter's idea and a few other members too. The light output is great. I don't drive with them on too often though. The centers are driving lights (projects pretty far out) and the two outside are fogs and really lights up the ditches and run off areas. I'm happy with them and would say it's worth the work. Need to reaim and brace them a bit better. Start hitting some bumps and light beams bounce. That's why I don't drive with them on too often.

Awsome looking! Makes me want them even more now. Spent the funds on a bunch of little upgrades. Really liked the idea of the 4pin plug for the easy disconnect! One other question .. What kind and where did you get your grille?

The grille is an ebay purchase. I'll look for the guy's id name. I had to cut out the center of the original grille (time consuming), but very happy with the outcome. Also, look up a "wide mouth grille". They are expensive, but awesome looking
