We are currently replacing the timing chain, water pump, etc.. off of our 390. I would like to paint the brackets, pump, and several items before we put it back together. For the brackets I have some Rustoleum hammer type paint which I could use over a couple coats of primer. Should I use the high temp or BBQ paint instead?? Would painting the radiator (all metal type) be possible?
Thanks!!
You can use anything for that stuff as they don't get hot enough to bake off.
They usually paint the old brass radiators with black paint to help with heat. If you are looking to just spruce it up, then another can of spray bomb black would suffice. There again, heat isn't enough to burn off regular paint.
Thanks! We painted the brackets and fan tonight. We'll see if the radiator survives the test / repair shop this week! The all metal radiators are a little pricey.
