driver door problems
i have a explorer sport 2001. the driver's side door will not lock or unlock, u have to do it manually by pushing down the lock or to open it u have to pull the handle from inside. my husband attempted to fix it with jbweld and it worked a few times but, now it is doing the same thing and now the window seems to catching on something because when u roll it up all the way it sounds like it is grinding. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I had a similar problem with my driver's side door.
It turned out the rivet for the lock actuator broke off the support bracket.
The actuator was flopping around in the door cavity.
Check the side of the door for a missing rivet and grommet (the passenger side will have one intact)

I would almost certainly say that the rivet either broke or it has enough play in it that it wont lock or unlock the door. Take the door panel off and drill the rivet then put a short 1/4 inch bolt in ther in its place that fixed my probs anyway
