Hey Guys, I noticed that when I accelerate and then let off i hear the tea pot whistle?
Please tell me this is normal and not the start of the heads lifting?.
I just got the truck back after 3 weeks of waiting for a transmision replacement. what do you think. there is no coolant leaking out the degas bottle i do notice that the coolant is at the low line, but after you drive it a bit it comes right up?
Also want to say a big thanks to Storm for getting me the 08 mirrors and recons for my truck they look sweet!
Check the exhaust clamps on the turbo. Then check all clamps on the pressure side of turbo (fresh air). Wondering if when did tranny that they bumped exhaust and it loosened on turbo.
Mine did it for awhile pushing a little coolant out here and there and then one night it just went south on me. Head gaskets and egr cooler had to be replaced. The tea kettle sound is from it building pressure in the degas bottle, its usually a sign of head gaskets going out.
I have had my truck about 2 weeks now. And I have a similar sound that I can hear when I am under 2100 rpm's. I thought it was just turbo lag, but now I am nervous.
Can you tell me if this whistle I am hearing between 1400-2100 rpms is turbo lag? Or do I need to check all my clamps and hoses? Thanks for the advice.

turbo lag is the lag time between when you put the pedal to the floor and the truck finally gets out of it's way. check your exhaust manifolds and downpipe.
If it was hg's you were hearring it would be puking at wot. so it is probably a loose fitting somewere. Also always keep the coolant at the minimum line not max there was a recall for this.
Head gasket.....had the same thing on mine at about 40K.....luckily it was under warranty. My dealer told me that the fix would've been about $ 2300 if not. Mine did it more on cold days (below 40 degrees) and under a load (trailer). Dealer checked all of the exhaust connections and it was still doing it.
You can pressure check the coolant system by connecting it to the degas bottle or you could get one of the systems that checks for combustion in the coolant.
