I was unsure in the begining like most of you but they have been good to me
i have been seriously contemplating them on my rig for a while now. i am about to revamp the front end since i have to completely pull it anyway. i will be relocating radius arm mounts, c-wedge degree, and probably the length of the radius arms. really would like to push the front axle more forward but dont know if i will be able to or not.
I would guess more stability, but the stock radius arm/track bar setup basically make a 3 link, so if you rod ended and extended your radius arms along with your rod ended track bar, get you some longer reservior shocks, and Paul, you'd have 1 crazy articulating machine! At least in the front, then we'd have to either 3 or 4 link your rear to match.... Oh the possibilites! How much money you got Paul? We can make this happen, The ideas are flowing. Especially since we had already talked about coil spring/radius arm you rear, we could just ladder bar and coil over it with a panhard bar, then coilover your front. Nice!!!!!
I think will go with longer shocks as the next upgrade.
Then rod end/extend the stock arms.
Then if thats not enough rear radius arm (also extended and rod ended) I wonder what the lengths are? Think we could tie it into one big cross member in the center so I wouldn't have a gap to get hung up on between the drop brackets?

neg- you'll get way better suspension characteristics out of a 3 link then a radius arm.......
you get no pinion control with the rad. arm......its fixed......now go look at the diagrams/tool in my build thread towards the end someone posted.....
pinion stays flat....and it wont flex as much as a 3link or 4link
Nick, you are correct, I was just referring that the stock coil spring setup is a VERY basic and not adjustable 3 link type suspension. To really do it right, it would need to be rod ended on both ends of the radius arms (axle end as well as the frame end), but by the time you modify the stockers that far, he would be more money ahead to just 4 link it.
ok I guess I don't know what a 3 link is then. I thought it was what Karl described.
ok.......
i didn't want to be a d*ck and correct him, but a radius arm is in no way a 3link........even with heims 2 heims on the axle end and 1 on the frame, it is still a radius arm.......really heims on the axle end is pointless.......bushings will be just fine........ just use high misalignment spacers on the frame end......
a 3 link has 3 seporate links......well, plus a panhard, but we wont count that.....usually 2 "lowers" and 1 "upper" totally seperate link........
my truck uses a 4link w/ panhard, which is pretty much the same in all aspects as a 3link w/ panhard except i have a extra "upper" for strength.....when you try to think what a 3 link w/ panhard is, just think just like mine, but with a "upper" missing.......now this is a 3 link w/ panhard, there is also a 3 link, 4link w/ panhard, 4 link,
