bronczilla.. did you plate/box the radius arms with those extensions? did you make a new cross member for between the radius arm brackets when you moved them back? thanks
Thats sort of what I was thinking. The threaded shaft on the arm is designed to be supported by the bushing and bracket, with just another threaded tube and lock nut over it, I'm not sure it would be stong enough if the arm took a serious jolt, causing the threaded coupler to buckle. Now it it were sleved over the threaded shaft and welded/braces to the I beam portion, then it might be strong enough.

I think those are the extensions I was telling you about, but if I remember right their websites recommends that you sleeve/plate them.
edit: here's the website.. they have a whole bunch of cool stuff
you think that steering saddle would work if I find the tie rod too low being under the knuckles? I know its only a couple inches, but I bent the last one up pretty good.
Paul,
your new tie rod appears to be much more beef than a stock TR. The one I originally built for George is 1.5" .250DOM. I highly doubt Ill bend it easily.
I just have to get off my **** and buy a reamer. The original plan called for highsteer but it wouldnt work.
(Thanks FTE member! Hopefully you know who you are)
I bought the wrong size DOM apparently and Karl gave the chromo tube to me. I don't know what it cost, but I'm sure it wasn't cheap.
Still trying to find some other parts to give to him for that, can't figure out what else his ranger needs though lol
Paul,
I need the bars!!! But in exchange I'll settle with you giving a hand sometime with a few muddy tire changes between rounds! Better yet, bring slackass down so he can get dirty! About the tube, I just need to call Autofab or S&W and get more tube. The tube you paid for was the right DOM tube, I measured it and it looks thin, so not sure if you want to complain to S&W, the problem is we cut the 1 tube to size when you were there, and I neve thought to guage it before I cut it. So, basically I'll find a good use for it sometime.
And Nick, you are right about the price it was about $7/foot and I bought 20' of it! The best part about the 1" chromo is it will bow if you run against it and flex right back into shape and not leave you with the frown on the tierod like Paul had.
After my two finals tomorrow I'm free! So I'll give you a hand wrenchin on it or changing tires whenever you need it. Just need to save up for some new tires though so I can run my bronco with you guys.

No and No. I have had these extentions since 2003 and I have beat the hell out of them. They have survived 4 roll overs. I hit a honda sized boulder with my tire going 20+ and the radius arm bracket ripped apart and bent, the radius arm was not damaged. I was unsure in the begining like most of you but they have been good to me. It wouldnt hurt to sleeve them but they are fine the way they are. More pics.
