I am looking at an extended cab superduty. I like a good sterio system. i am trying to figure out where i can fit subs while keeping my truck fully functional. in my bronco, i have a sony 52x4 head unit, 2 infinity 6x9's, 2 infinity 5.5's, and two 12" infinity subs w/ a 1200w bridged panasonic amp. it sounds GOOOD. I realy like infinity. what would be a comparable set up that will fit under the back seat of an ex-cab superduty?
Ill say you have a think for Infinity's, lol. My question to you are:
1. Wats the biggest you can make the box
2. Wat type of music do you listen to?
3. Are looking for something that you can feel in you chest, or something that is crisp and clear, or a mixture of both.
4. Wat kind of budgett do you have?
i'm not sure on the size of the box, thats kinda why i started this post. I listen to modern/classic rock, death metal(pump-you-up, muddin music) and country. I am realy just looking for crisp, clear sound, but it has to be LOUD!! i'm planning on running stacks behind the cab, and sometimes, you dont feel like listening to you exhaust.(not often, but sometimes) i wouldnt mind being able to feel it in my chest when i want to, but i'm not looking to enter any competitions. i am happy with what i have now, i just can't fit it in the new truck, so i want something comparable. the 1200w amp is only 1/3-1/2 way up on the gain and my head unit is at -8 on sub output, so i dont realy need what i have. i like turning the headunit output up every now and then, and id like to have a remote **** for my sub gain. my main goal with this new truck is to do everything right the first time, and keep it for a LOONNGG time. i have plans of what i want to do already. it isnt going to be a toy that i go out and break, it's gonna be my baby, and i want everything on it to be exactly how i want it. i need a system that is durable and is of good quality. i'd kinda like to run an amp with my door speakers too. i want a BADA$$ stereo, but as i said, i'm not doing any compatitions. so basically, my budget is save/spend what i need to to get what i want. i like the infinitys because they seem pretty good for the price, but i want all my components to match, so i'll got with w/e youguys think is the best for me. you guys know you ****!!!
What do you already have in the truck? Or is it all stock? If its an extended cab then you dont get much space behind the seat. If its a 4 door i know bgalaxy provided a link a couple of weeks ago that gave a good box design. Maybe he will chip in and provide it again. But the real question remains. Are you starting from scratch or working with provided components. I.E. is there an aftermarket deck in the truck?
By the way stacks are awesome! I would go black though, as everybody has chrome stacks. Just my 2 cents
Here is a website where they can answer all your question on wat you want to do. I use them a lot for my truck. They have some excellent products for cheap that will last you a very very long time. If you do ask them question, make sure you give them every detail on the type of music you like to listen, to me it sounds like a sealed box is the way to go. the head unit is stock, there are aftermarket speakers in the door, panasonics, from what i could tell through the screen. the guy said they were there when he bought it, so i'm basically starting from scratch. in my bronco, i have a sony head unit that puts out 52x4w. even if there was already a unit though, i'd replace it. i'm buildin this truck MY WAY!
