pretty much anything can be made to fit - it just depends how much effort you want to put in. I am putting in more effort than I expected to with my "new" seat, but I got the seat for $150 and I have maybe $25 in materials (steel and bolts) into it. The added comfort makes it worth the time I have into it!
The largest amount of effort required for me was getting the original seat bolts on the floor to budge! 30+ years of Appalachian cinders and salt had taken their toll.
The junkyard I got my seat from is called Mckee's Salvage, it's located in New Marshfield OH, about 20 mins from my house in Athens. I thought 20 bucks was cheap for the seat, too, and it was well worth my time.
I put a bench seat from a 1985 F250 into my 74 F100. It does sit a little higher on the drivers side, but I think that has to do with the foam in the seat, it's all there and not wore out. If your sitting on springs (like I was) when you add 3-4" of foam of course it's gonna be a little higher.
I found my seat when I was Pheasant hunting this winter. Guy had an 85 F250 with a blown diesel in the grove I was hunting. I glanced in the cab as I was walking by and noticed it was in perfect condition. So when we got done I stopped back at the house. He said he had it recovered it a year before the engine went. So I traded him 3 pheasants for the seat. I think that was a pretty good trade!!!
A friend of mine had a set of buckets that were in great shape and a neutral color. He had no idea what they were out of, but he offered them to me for free. I pulled my bench out, but left the slider assemblies in the truck. I bolted two aluminum C- Channels to the existing sliders and bolted the buckets to the C-Channels. They work great and are extremely comfortable. My wife loves riding in Old Blue now.
The only drawback to this kind of an install is that both buckets slide at the same time.

My 60/40 out of the 99 F-150 is set up the same way. Both slide at the same time - but that's no big deal to me. I'll have pics of the seat in the gallery in a day or 2 if people want to see.

Yes I would like to see. I'm going to pull apart to get a few things for my truck next month.
Quote: Did you put a console in between the seats?
Yes I did cliff; I built one out of plywood and covered the lid with vinyl. I made a little front compartment on it to put My ham radio and CB in. The lid closes down over it and hides all of the radio equipment. Someday I will figure out how to post pictures in my gallery and then people can look at all of my mods.

Anyhow, what you guys think about the Lightning's seats? Think they'd work good in a reg cab F150? haha a 73-79 F150. I think they look pretty nice and comfy.
lightening seats would look good - but sellers usually want a pretty penny for them!
As of 9 AM this morning my seat is in the crew. The rest of the pics are in the gallery.
Now all i have to do is find the recline lever handle and lumbar **** (Ford wants $37 EACH - what a JOKE) since the guy I bought the seats from lost them.
Soon I get to see how a dodge seat fits in the rear - yay
For the holes in the side panel of the seat where the power seat switches went, look for a regular cab truck. The side panel wont have those since there is no reason for power seats in a regular cab. I don't know for sure, but I would think they would bolt right up.
