Well I figured we needed a thread just to B.S. in , you know kinda like a beer thirty time just to post whatever in, this will be a ongoing one that about every 15 plus or minus pages it will be closed another one started. (helps on server loads etc etc..)
I'll start,
ehh today I took a trip up to Columbus, ran around calling on some customers, then headed up to MT. Vernon via 71 then onto Rt 36 stopped there, then onto Newark, from there back to Dayton. Traffic was okay , a few slow downs along the way.
I was a good run for the Continental, she got about 26 mpg , a heck of lot better then the truck would have.
wow that was quite a drive. i have been to all those places. i worked on my donor truck some more today. got the transfer case out and the spacer between tranny and t/c was full of fluid. just what i didnt want to see. oh well better to find it now instead of after i installed it. i wasnt going to split them but because of weight reasons i had to. well i hope this thread takes off good.
Ahhh Friday is here, but the rain , geez will someone turn the spigot off already.
anyways I did manage to get one racing Kart ready to run, fired it up an broke in the freshed up engine, now just have to get the weather to cooperate to run it on the track.
i sure wish this rain would go away. had to drive in it all day, but got to see a mint 79 f250 sc 2wd. it was really nice a 1 owner he was about 70 yrs old and said he loves the truck and will die with his name on the title. a true ford lover also said he has a 71 torino gt in just as good of shape. well time for bed be back in the mornin
what a dreary day, tryin to get up the drive to go out and try to get the motor and tranny out of my donor. needs to be done but at 45 degrees, cloudy and breezy just not wanting to do much outside. i guess i will just take a nap and work it out in my mind for awhile.
well honey hole turned into a $#&* hole. they took alot of their stuff to the shredder. not too much left but a couple doors and a hood. there is one 4x4 f250 but it was pretty well picked through. still out looking around
went to work today to hear we were not working today. they knew it fri and told everyone but me. to top it off they tried to call some others to work and sent me home.but on my way home they called me cause nobody else would come in. i didnt even answer the phone. so i got the day off good day to pull my motor.
Wowsers I just went out, and fuel is $4.45 a gallon... now this is going to hit the wallet big time, and it is not even summer time.... I have heard rummers that we might even get to as high as $5 bucks a gallon here shortly....
This is not going to help the economy any ...what to do..since i have to drive a tow for a living and sales are way down..this is going to get bad.
well got my motor and tranny out of my donor and got them split and the motor into my storage unit. found out i need to replace the front seal on the tranny too. also there is something on the tail shaft that looks like a governor. not sure how it comes off bit it will to put the rear seal in. i am wore out. guess im not as young as i think.
Cruised the Cincy area all day , construction was a bit hairy around the 275 & 75 interchange .
I will be starting to get ready for the first race of the season this week-end, hopefully I will have all three karts ready for action and that there will be no mowing of the grass
um I slept all day... of course I do work at night.lol
I am trying to fall asleep now so that I can install some Mountaineer seats in my Ranger tomorrow. Then maybe do some packing, getting things ready for my move the first weekend in May. Then go meet the fiance` around 6 so we can meet the photographer to do engagement pictures.
well my donor is finally gone. got all the parts i needed/ wanted. seemed like every time i took one off i saw two more i better keep. finally had to say i got enough and have the junk yard next door come and take it away. i was afraid one of the neighborhood kids would get hurt since the front was on blocks and there was no front axle in it anymore. just hope i got everything i could need. seems like you dont need anything till you get rid of it lol.
