Ok i want to know why ford call the 302 a 5.0L its truly a 4.94L now what really steams me is that the 300 I6 is a 4.92L rrrrrrrr I just wanted to rant a little. I am just kinda dissapointed about this but then i did the math a a true 5.0 is a 305 made by Chebby. Well if i ever do rebuild me engine it will be a 306 when i bore it .30 over oh well.............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................ :-staun
Not to mention, Ford probably called it a 5.0 because it was a cheaper to put on 5.0 badge versus the 4.9458525845843850846508675476 whatever badge. I know the numbers arent all right, but it is an infinite decimal. Just let it go. Many engine sizes dont match their exact math volume.

Exactly, you do the math and our beloved 351 is actually a 352. But "351" rolls off the tongue so much better. Just like "DeWALT" is so much the better cordless drill than say a "Makita".
Hi all,
Now if Ford uses two numbers (4.9, 5.0, 5.8, 6.6 etc), ie. it rounds to 1 decimal, the 302 Winsor is actually closer to 5.0 than 4.9. Here in Australia we have the 302 Cleveland, and it was rated at 4.9 L when it is actually much closer to 5.0 L. We have Holdens (Australian chevies) getting around with 5.0 written on them, which kinda makes the 4.9L Ford seem out of place.
This means we do have 2 4.9's, and 3 351's.
Just for the record the 5.0L Holden is known as the 308.
