c9ae 4bbl intake any good?
Just picked up a 4v dual plane iron intake casting code c9ae. Got it for nothing, looks like a standard 4v truck intake, nothing special, what are the performance limits of this intake? At what point do you need to go with something else? Thanks, Matt.

The stock intakes perform well. The question is what your goals are for your engine build. If you are doing a stock to mild upgrade the stocker is fine. If you are going the whole nine yards and bumping up compression,roller rockers aftermarket heads,rods ect then that would be the time to look at an aftermarket intake. If your using it in a car where weight savings is a plus then go with aftermarket. But if the motor is for a truck its a non issue. If you do go the aftermarket route I would look at the package kits where you get the cam,intake and heads. The benifit of this is the manufacturer has done the testing and research for optimum performance.
