Why do I get so much condensation build-up on my 93' Br 302.I would get a small puddle below the fender on ground.Looks like foamy oil. It's done this since I bought it 5 years ago.I do have some blow-by issues. My air filter would get ruined after a short period of time so I put a new filter in and disconnected the pipe coming from the oil filler spout from the air filter box.I then put the end from the air filter box in a empty Qt. oil bottle to collect the oily water mix.I empty every other week of about 4 ounces of this stuff. Also, I noticed when I pull out some times I get a puff of blue smoke coming from the bottle(see it out the crack of fender/hood) since I left a breather hole in itIs this much moisture common? It's not anti-freeze, I'm not losing any of that!thanks
Ya, like beech said it is probably the condensation from the a/c. Does it drip when you are not running the a/c? It will be more common on a humid and hot day.
Check to make sure the PCV is working fine, that can cause increase internal pressure, but with the info we have, I'll stick to my 1st comment as the source.
Thanks for the replies but the condesation can't get in my air box from the AC compressor. As I stated it comes out of my breather tube from my oil spout into the air box then runs out the bottom of the air box then down the fender well to the ground. This is why I took the tube off the air box and run it into a plastic jug.Already checked the PCV when this problem was noticed.
On my 94 to test the PCV disconnect the tube from the air box. With engine idling the vacuum should hold a light but stiff piece of paper to the end of the hose if PCV is working and you do not have blow by. With the end of the tube stuck down in oil could that prevent the PCV from ventilating the engine?
After owning a few older vehicles ive noticed over the years (certain seasons) if i let a vehicle sit for a while it will leak .Gaskets shink(colder weather) in different places allowing leaks weep and build up . Now drive that vehicle for weeks straight every day no leaks. HAD to throw my .02 cents in TR
I dont know your driving style. But short trips where the engine doesnt get to warm up completly are bad for condensation. Cool moist environs are bad to.
