vin # on 79 bronco?
i have a girl interested in buying my 79 bronco. she wanted the vin# to run a carfax. i found it on the door jamb. it was the sticker type. it was 15 digits. she ran it and it came back that it's suppose to have 17 digits? is there another location for a vin tag? i looked on the top of the dash and nothing there???? anybody?

1966/80 Bronco's have 11 digit VIN's not 15. You're reading the VIN on the CERTIFICATION LABEL WRONG = look BELOW THE LINE...NOT ABOVE!!
No Bronco EVER had a 15 digit VIN.
Sample 1979 Bronco VIN as listed in the parts catalog: U15GLDC0001
1979 BRONCO SERIAL NUMBER RANGE (LAST 6 DIGITS): DC0,001 THRU FK9,999.
Look on your registration, the VIN is there. It's also on the Warranty Plate which the parts catalog sez is located on the inside of the glove box door.
