I have a very nice 4 speed "synchro-silent" T-98 + bell housing + new clutch, pressure plate, and a newly machined flywheel that came out of my 55 F-600. My T-98 does have a PTO cover on it.....
It's not going back in. I have a completely rebuilt E4OD complete with the parking brake assy on the back just about ready to go in. I only have to get the adapter kit
and I'll be ready to rock and roll! ....I guess I should have gotten a 4R100 then I'd have a PTO cover on it too.......Oh well I don't need a PTO for anything...

4 speed "syncro-silent" (Borg Warner T98) was optional on F4 through F6, and standard on F6 with the optional 254ci "Big Six" engine. T98s were used by Ford and Jeep during the late 40s to mid 60s and are very similar to the later T18 / T19 which were used by Ford, Jeep and IHC. These are very popular with the 4x4 crowd.
5 speed overdrive was standard on F7, optional on F8
5 speed direct was standard on F8, optional on F7
