Nope.

You MUST have two separate, properly programmed and working keys in order to program spare keys.

I'm suprised nobody has brought up the idea of hiding a key in the steering column near the anti-theft receiver. I bought my 2000 X with 1 key also. After pricing this key coding nonsense, I quickly realized this is nothing but a dealer cash grab. The interesting point here is how this anti-theft nonsense has made ZERO impact on car theft statistics - crooks use flat beds and reprogram better than the dealer in their chop shops ! I cut 6 keys for peanuts and derailed this whole electronic foolishness !!

Because most of us like the psychological comfort aspect of having the PATS system intact.
