Rear Pad Life

2006 F250 V10 with 33k miles. How fast do the rear pads wear? Mine are down to 20% already, it just seems like rapid wear to me...

It depends on driving style, how much weight you tow, how often you tow, how well your trailer brakes work, how much weight you haul and how often you haul.

I've seen rear pads in need of replacement after 40k miles. I've also had rear brakes that did not need pads after 200,000 miles (but by then the calipers were stuck, so it got new pads anyway).

I have 90K miles on mine. I rarely tow and haul about 4-5 times a month at about 1700lbs and I am noticing some extra dust on the rear wheels. The pads seem to have about 5/16ths of a inch left on them.

I just did mine yesterday. I have 164k on them. They were pretty worn!! Not as bad as I had thought they would be. I tow often anywhere from 8 to 20k, but always have my trailer brakes working properly and set to take most of the braking.
