Crankcase ventilation system

Anyone have the scoop on these? They differ from a standard PCV system but I'm not sure how exactly. The claimed benefits are reduced crankcase pressure yielding better ring seal and fewer oil leaks caused by pressure.
Google it. I thought it might cure my leaks and give a little better efficiency. Moroso and Mr Gasket sell them

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about Justin?

The reason for a PCV (Positive Crankcase Venitlation) system is to prevent pressure build up and the things that you listed. The valve does wear out over time and needs replaced.

I am not to sure how they could improve on that?

Instead of reducing crankcase pressure using a PCV system that routes vapors and contaminants back into the intake, an evacuation system draws exhaust gases using the Bernoulli principle to provide the vacuum necessary as they exit. More reliable , better fuel mixture, cleaner oil albeit it harder on the environment.

Check out the section on Exhaust slashcut evacuation here:

Here's how the installation looks:

It all comes down to the condition of your engine. If the rings are still sealing properly, there should be minmal blow-by, and the stock system should work fine. If there is a lot of blow-by, the stock system would chum up the intake manifold in short order. If you use the exahust system to scavenge it, it can hurt the catalytic covnerter. You can use the catch-can setup to catch the sludge. But it all means that your engine is on its way out, and probably needs new rings at the least.

You want PCV to prevent pressure build up in the crank case, which can blow oil seals. I guess it's possible to get a little more power if you applied some vacuum to the crank case, but I doubt you will see 2-5% as the guy claims.

I think it mainly applies to race engines with looser tolerances. Interesting idea though. I can see where one would want a purer air/fuel mixture for performance.
