Metric AOD with Carburetor??
Franklin2 is right. The TV adjustment on an AOD is critical. Incidently, The "carb with wires on it" that you are talking about is probably a fuel injection throttle body and you'd never get it to work on that truck without a computer and a bunch of trouble. BUT don't throw it away yet. Pay close attention to how the TV linkage attaches to and works on it and make it work the same way on the 2 bbl. You might be able to steal some of the parts off of it to do this.

Metric AOD with Carburetor??
My wife's truck, '77 f-100 2wd, needed a motor. I went to the local yard and found a 302 w/Metric AOD behind it. I have no interest/time to keep the BS Motocrap carb with wires on it. The Question is: can I run this motor and tranny combo with a regular 2bbl carburetor? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Metric AOD with Carburetor??
I've got one of those metric AODs from an '80 Tbird 302 application, it was my brother-in-laws car, I think it was a carb Motorcraft 2300 series, this trans says "metric" on the pan, it looks alot like a C4, will it stand up for use in a F150 behind a 302, that rarely carries, or pulls anything, looks like it will just bolt up in place of a C4, is this right???
