My brother has an 2004 Explorer 4dr with a diff leak from an axle. How do you check & fill diff? I see a large plug & a small plug on cover but none on the housing anywhere. Help!
maybe that's them. the top plug will be the fill/check one. the bottom will be a drain. take the top one out and feel for oil.
I pulled the top 1 out w/ the truckjacked up inthe rear & gear lube came out. The plug is @ the same level as bottom of pinion. Just wondering if the dealer or factory overfilled it & thats why its leaking from axle seal.
