I've got true duals on mine, don't know if that'll make it louder. You could gut your cats, but I don't personally like the way it sounds. Glasspacks would probably make it louder too.

Where they turn down and point at the ground under the truck instead of running out the back or out the side. If you watch this it will show you where their at. The sound quality of this does no justice to what it really sounds like. IMO I don't think you need true duals to get loud. I never came across another 150 as loud as mine yet. I know you can here mine almost a mile away, so the neighbors and my dad tell me.

looks like you're burning quite a bit of oil there gz298! I had a coworker that had a 2003 F150 Scab with the 4.6 and he cut it off as you did right under the cab. My truck was a lot louder than his, and he complained of exhaust fumes. It's a good idea for turndowns at the dragstrip, not so much on a daily driver. You're just sitting in exhaust fumes at stoplights.

it'll be like that no matter what you do. my truck is very audible at idle. To get the true duals, I cut the Y out and ran pipes straight back. If you put the pipes out at a 45 out the back, you'll be able to hear it alot better and will probably make it sound louder to you, even though those behind you can hear your truck just fine. If you want it real loud, put a couple pipe out the side in front of your rear tires on the passenger side. I had it that way on my '99 V10 and got several noise violations!

Mine is plenty loud running straight pipe...although mine has 3" pipe. Go to your local exhaust shop and ask them to cut at the Y-pipe and run a 3" from there and dump it out the side before the rear tire.....that should be plenty loud for you.

Not alot, that had been sitting for 3 weeks. Got a leaky valve seal, it puddles alittle when she sits.

Ditch the restrictive manifolds go headers long tube or shorty get high flow cats or gut the cats true duals straight not so many bends in the pipes makes it loud and put on glasspacks or run no mufflers keep the piping shorter too it takes a little work to get these Fords loud get rid of the y-pipe too that is when the pipes coming off the manifolds turn into one piece of pipe like a y

good luck
