no not really. high flow cats are a gimmick. Just cut out the Y and run a pipe off each cat to the back and that's as loud as you'll get. without cats you'll have to run some faux O2 sensors, and it still sounds like crap.
and I have a right to it. Although just about everyone I've been around says the same. A close friend of mine has a '02 Expy and he cut the cats out of it and just ran tru dual pipes and he tells me everytime he's around me and my truck that he wishes he would have left the cats on them. If you want to sound like a 30yr old truck with a straight 6 that's fine, but the cats add a lot of muffling and they deepen the tone.
i never said you werent entitled to your own opinion, just simply stated that its your opinion, i disagree, my buddy has a 99 F150 with the 4.6 thats running this setup and it sounds great to me, to each his own i guess
some people like their truck to be loud, i know i do, i dont care call me immature stupid whatever you want you aint gunna hurt my feelings, i like to know that i can shut that little ricer up who parks next to me in the school parkin lot with his big fart can muffler just by starting up my truck, yes i am still in highschool you may say thats why i like my truck loud cause im young blah blah but it doesnt matter i like it loud and think it sounds good, everyone has his own opinion, and btw highflow cats are not just a gimmick, they flow better than stock cats, dont dappen the sound level as much and still keep people's vehicles legal
alright so i got true duals put on my truck and now im very satisfied with it. i had y-pipe straights and i dint know that. but now my truck is loud as ****. sound sweet. thanks everybody!!
im thinking about putting highflow cats on my exhaust which is flowtech shortys smogs into flowmaster dual 40's but i was worried about an exhuast leak...would i get one?
It should but the y-pipe is qute restrictive do you got dual straights or single any high flow cats will work dont matter on the brand i dont think i run no cats all i know its hard to get fords loud compared to chevy and dodges its all in the timing and all that stuff
