Well Kenny, about three years ago I got a pretty bad concussion and have lived with brain damage(vestibular, which is your balance, and double vision). Now if I am not careful I lose my balance and fall, the other day was one of those days. So rack up another concussion. My normal day is just dealing with it. Imagin if you spun around until you were dizzy, thats what I see all the time, very of nauseating.

It'll be three years in July, I just have to deal with it. You know, the old Midwestern attitude of deal with it. My biggest problem is not getting too over stimulated where it knocks me down for days at a time. I'll be OK. It's given me time to work on my truck. I've got a friend that will drive my truck to get the codes read, he's got one leg and I have a manual tranny. This might be better than buying tickets to the circus seeing the two of us trying to get across town.

Since we're on the subjects of code scanners, what does one of those run? Can I get one that will read both the '97 and the '06? I need to have the '97 read, she's starting to get a little stumble.
Kenny, I may just run to the Advance here in Omaha and have them read them if they are too expensive.

government regulations have auto makers use the OBDII system in cars since 96 so only 1 scanner is needed for anything newer than that model year...it's possible to scan older vehicles, but each OEM had it's own datalink so u'd have to buy adapters to make it work
as far as pricing goes for scanners, that really all depends on the maker and the retailer selling it, but i've never really seen one sell for under 100 bucks, and those were pretty meager at that
o, ya, and just go on down to any Advance Auto Parts, they'll scan ur engine codes free of charge...but on the off chance that the scanner is busted, they won't be able to do it, so i'd call ahead b4 u made the trip to make sure they got one that's working...other than that, it's a realitively painless process, sometimes it takes longer to find where the datalink is than to actually scan the codes!

I gave I think $65. for one at NAPA, but you have to sit in the truck and count the blinks on the engine light. I don't like it and since I can't find it I will put out the couple hundred bucks for a good one. But for now I'm going to Advanced Auto. I just don't think my buddy Gene(he's the guy with one leg) is up for the adventure.
