by opposite i mean one sender rotates clockwise from full to empty and the other rotates counterclockwise from full to empty , they both use the same resistances but float arms are mounted on opposite sides of the resistor strip so they have to be opposite in rotation to work , i found thsi out when i went to replace the resistor strip from other senders into mine , by the way the gasoline senders have teh same resistor strips as the diesel , so you can swap the electrical component if you find one laying around
Well since the bed is off it didn't hurt to check out my sending units. I filled the front tank half way and the rear tank is full. Here is what I did
I took out the rubber grommet for the vents and switched to the back tank in which shows empty, but will show full when you jump the wires over, I hooked the wire back up and it kept showing it empty on the rear tank, so I went a stuck a stick in the tank and pushed on the sending unit to push it to the bottom but in cab the gauge didn't move.
The front was almost the same but it is half full but shows completely full on the gauge in cab, pushed with stick same effect no movement in the gauge.
Did these tests rule out anything or bring me to a conclusion?
Id like to get them working since the units are dang expensive, im hoping to not have to buy new ones
