I went to Advance auto today to get me a sending unit for my rear tank and he looked and looked what seemed like every column in his computer and couldn't find anything. I also had problems finding one online doing searches. Anyone know a place that sells them?
it is a dealer only item. there's a supporting dealer (can't remember the name) here on FTE that probably has best price, but the one that i bought from local ford dealer was $250, so there's a bunch of markup on them depending on where you get them obviously.
yea i got it from the Ford Dealer. I dont have the part # anymore. When i told them i needed the sending unit it came back in there computer that it was a fuel pump. there is no pump just the assembly from the top of your fuel tank down to the pick up screen. hope that helps.

MOTORCRAFT Part # PS19 w/17 Gal. Tank Midship for $30.79
Hopefully those come with a little bit of info how to install, not a take off put on part, but look like they will do pretty good. First time I did the search too soon, and it redirected me to a fender...
the rear sender is different from the front , you cannot just swap the float and arm
the resistor on the rear sender is opposite from the front one

very much different. didn't know about the elect. resistance, but from installing them, can definitely tell you one size does NOT fit all. LOL. sometimes i think it's a conspiracy against us---just another way to charge extra for what should be a simple part to change. oh, well, i'm just grouchy anyway, so maybe it's not a conspiracy.

Now I'm confused. They use the same gague, so shouldn't the resistance be the same? If not, how does that work?
