That's still not enough Torque, he should contact the US Navy, and have them deliver a Nimitz-class nuclear reactor. I'm not sure how this would bolt-up to your transmission, but I'm sure that some of these aftermarket companies could make you a custom bellhousing, I mean heck, if it can make a Nimitz class carrier go 38 knots, then it should make your Bronco go (by conservation of momentum) about 210,000 MPH, and a .27 second 1/4 mile. I agree, the 28 spline axles will hold up just fine, and you definately don't need to carry around the extra weight of a 31 spline rearend. You might want to have them bring the anchor off that boat, just in case! -TK

Oh, my God. I am ashamed that I just spent 5 precious minutes of my life reading this load of $&^*^$&^%$! I'm sure none of you have noticed or truthfully care, but I have been absent from this arena for about a month. And now I return to this. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Well, I can see that I truly do not belong here. This site has so much potential. I am saddened to see that it has been completely taken over by a gang of pre-pubescent 5-year-olds. I guess sane, honest advice, mature automotive humor, and consolation in the face of adversity is only welcome at the local speedshop. Fatfenders, take care and good luck in the playground. I think you'll need it. We fought the good fight, but sometimes you have to know when to walk away. TK, enjoy your website. I will no longer challenge your logic or advice. Feel free to allow chaos, disappointment, and lack of common sense run rampant. Shame on us for assuming that we were all invited to the party. Rage out.

Let us return to the first few posts if we haven't lost 70 Bronc by now. A combination of the advice here would be perfect. Flat top pistons, Edelbrock Performer carb with a dual plane intake, maybe add the matching cam from Edelbrock and some shorty headers. I would run 2 or 2 1/4" dual exhaust too with these mods. It will run nice and get decent fuel mileage if the rear end gears are reasonable. I guess I just described the engine in my 53 F100. Maybe that's why I think it is such a good idea.
If the above is too much modification for you, I would still strongly agree with the flat tops pistons and small four barrel carb.
