Cool Tranny Fluid Leak

I changed my tranny fluid and did a complete flush. Every thing went smooth with the exception that I noticed a puddle of new tranny fluid when putting new fluid into the fill tube. I crawled under to see where it was coming from and the filler has a little hole rotted through down near the tranny, where the tube starts to bend a little.

How hard is it to put a new one in? How do I tackle this? Any info would help. Thanks

I looked in the haynes manual and I see no where in there that it talks about replacing the transmission dipstick filler. I am really getting disgusted with this ford truck!!

why bother to change it? just take a little sand paper and rub back and forth over the hole to scuff it ut. wipe it off with acetone or a non oily cleaner, then put a dap of JB weld or liquid metal etc over the hole. You could probably even use RTV since there really is no pressure in the tube.

2nd vote for the JB weld. IT's cheap and easy.

It should have one retaining bolt on the back of the engine (usually a bellhousing bolt) and just a tight fit from an o-ring at the tranny.
But if it is accessible, I also would JBWeld it.
