Steering Damper

Hi All,

I noticed that my steering damper looks like it's been leaking (staining near piston end). Should I go stock again (see attached link) or are aftermarkets better? 2003 xlt SD 5.4L with 55k miles.

Direct Ford Parts Genuine Ford Truck Parts Lincoln Mercury Parts OEM Ford Parts and Accessories

Thanks,

Lou

I went aftermarket because i wheel the truck, which aftermarket has bigger cylinder which holds more oil or gas it's all self perference i like my new one which is BDS but was 100.00 though if you want to save $$$ hit up your local 4x4 shop they should have them laying around for free. most people upgrade and don't want old parts back. hope this helps.

I just got a Monroe stabilizer from RockAuto.com. Slightly larger than stock and I've read good things, plus it was only $28+shipping.

Thanks for the input, I think I'll go with the aftermarket version. Just need to find one I like...
