I put new rear leaf springs on my 99 f-250. It broke one so I replace both and added a leaf. Now before my truck sat higher un the back, than in the front, more so than the stock trucks I see around town. But there is a block between the axle and the spring about 5 inches tall. Can I do without it, or geta smaller block??? Other than the new leafs, suspension is all stock.
If you have blocks that tall they were added. All F-250s come with 2" blocks. Look for the right blocks and u-bolts and install them. Should drop you a little.

if your going to go to a block make sure you get a good one shuckes and napa sell some real cheep stuff... i had two sets of ther blockes break on me on my toyota ( lot smaller and way less power) but i lifted my ford f 250 wit a block i got from skyjacker little more money but have not had a problem if your suspension is stock i would look at just using a add a leaf in the rear and no block.. but it sounds like you have both..and the stock blockes are only two inches so not sure why there would be a five inch in there..

Are you sure he measured just the block? I hear there is some shim welded to the axle.
If you go to the dealer and get the blocks, shackles, and nuts it is less than $100. (This is what I hear from people going the F350 block route, I have to assume going down to F250 blocks would be about the same.)
