New High torque starter
Ordered it off e-bay Monday,it came it UPS today.the thing is HUGE.Much bigger than original.There are a couple of differences other than the size.This is a two bolt pattern,original was three.The nose of this sticks out further by about an 11/4".And the back of the starter,because its so big.Sticks out into the cross member.Just enough not to get it in there.
I immediately call the guy and ask him to make sure this is correct.He assures me that this is so.Said sometimes you need to shave a little off the cross member.But this fits your engine.
So I go out and try to fudge it in,no luck.I get the sawzall and shave.1/4" off the cross member.Really no big deal i guess,its just the a little portion of the lip on the member.Finally get it in.hook up batteries and my god.The power of this thing is unreal.Its spins up and starts so much faster.I love it.I am now glad my starter died the other day.For any of you contemplating doing this.I would suggest it.But be prepared to do a little customizing.And the two bolt patter is no big deal.It definitely isn't going anywhere.And it bolts rite up.no other mods needed.

Yes it was an e-bay store.Rite here. eBay Motors: New Starter Ford 7.3 Diesel Powerstroke HighTorque94-03 (item 380011523251 end time Apr-06-08 16:23:37 PDT) The guy has Great feedback.And quick service.He also has the 200 amp alternators.

That was my question. How much does that monster draw on the batteries when starting the truck?
It's good to hear positive options out there since my starter is still stock. How long did it take for him to ship it to you?
