You got it! Don't really need an LED to tell me that. The only need for a LED I can think of is if you have a manual switch for the GPR. Then I would want a spotlight shining right in my eyes!!
It was Rog that said 16... maybe he wants one for "On" and one for "Off" on each glow plug?
But yes, you are correct... 1 GP per cylinder.
think he wanted one for injectors and one for glow plugs....
I kinda like the idea and may end up rigging something up for it... I have a cali truck after all... so using the GPR shunt would allow for a bank to bank reading, but all it would give is the amperage the glow plugs are showing... so you would have to convert it with resistors somehow to only work when there is a certain amount of load on the GPs....
My check engine light tells me that I do not have enough current running through my drivers side glow plugs.... So an LED may not have any practical meaning though...

Hopefully that CEL will go away this weekend!
I think you're rig on Rog... can you imagine 8 LED's that lit every time an injector fired? It would look like fireworks!
I've had an LED sitting around for months now... never got around to installing it yet. I'm running an 01 non-Cali PCM and re-wired my GPR so I get to do it the easy way now. If you can make yours work having one for each bank let me know, I think that would be awesome! It might be a good way to figure out which bank has the dead glow plug w/o having to have the codes pulled.
As fast as they fire, they would be on all the time like status lights. haha.
16.
Well. Remember, its Rog, and he's a bit crazy.
A status LED for the GP relay isn't a bad idea, but unnessicary.
I'ma wire in the GP off and on switch. I am sick of running my already bad GP's while the truck doesn't need them.
2 mins on no matter what, how annoying.
I'm not going to go as far as jim with the coolant method.
