1948 Cab

I got the pictures messed up as usual. These are fire wall and dash. One day I might get below average on computers if I can improve that much. We removed the original fire wall and replaced it with a piece of deck plate.

Checker plate firewall. That must add a fair amount of weight to the cab. I don't see the recess for the engine/transmission hump. Did you take that into consideration or am I just missing something here.

Nice job just the same.

I used the IFS and engine and transmission from a 1995 T-bird . The engine and transmission set lower in the truck than the original engine so there is plenty of room without a hump in the floor. As far as weight I could probably use a little more than I have. Probably will have to cut springs to get ride height lower. This picture is how it will look when back together. Thanks for asking.

mytbtruck - looks real good. The lower engine will probably improve handling because of the lower CG. Are the radiator and seats out of the T-Bird as well? Thanks for the clarification. Would you happen to have a close up photo of where the steering column passes through the cab?

I can't get a bright picture to show the steering column mount. The seats are from the T-bird with the electric drivers seat. The radiator is for a 1972 Nova. It was an easy one to fabricate in the space we had. It is a four row brass/ copper radiator and should give me as much or more cooling for engine, transmission and a/c. When I bought it it came with a lifetime warranty. The way metal prices are rising it sounds like a good deal. We got a digital camera and won't have to be scanning our pictures in the future. I will post some more pictures soon. Thanks , LS
