A rebuild is planned for next fall/ winter, when I have time and get the money for it. I'll keep you posted, but plans are for 30 over and a healthy cam with a stall. Transmission has a shift kit now, but may throw in a heavier input shaft for the bigger HP and torque. Port and polish are also on the list.
Question; Does anyone run wheel well exit headers? Just wondering how they do offroad!?

Wheel well exit headers (L&Ls) are some pretty good headers and I know several people that run them.

You don't have to worry about trying to run the exhaust through the crossmemeber all on one side( complicated bends, and a pain even for a exhaust shop), and you can keep the exhaust tucked up on the side of the frame and you can run the exhaust pretty much by yourself. It only goes straight.

ivan had them, and from what i can tell he was happy with them, personally i like theidea. Better route for exhaust. less likely to get hung up and ripped off.

GREAT! Just about have me sold on them! But:

What about clearance on the tires and during, axle articulation? Do they rub, or do the headers run tight with the inner fender? Or do you take the inner out?

I would love to run my exhaust tight to the outside of the frame with a set of turn downs right before the rear tires and a set of Flowmasters. SWEEEET! HELL YEAH!!

Tire rub on the fender exit headers would depend on an awful lot.

I have 35" ATs on a 79 F250 with 351M fender exit headers and no lift they dont rub. I also know of a 79 f250 with 18" of lift and 44s that dont rub either. It depends on where you are between these two situations

Dubz has them on his bronco and they rub I think (at least when he had the 35s on there they did)

might be the height/suspension difference in a 250 vs 150/bronco

Yeah, i have these crazy 4 into 1 headers that are all rusty except for where my tires rub at full lock one way or another, where they're really shiny. Don't know anything about the headers, were on there when i got it.

It barely rubs, I don't notice it, so it's not a big deal.

I have a 4 inch lift, and 37 X 13.5 Boggers. I will have to look tomorrow and see how much room I do have. You can see in the pic below how much room I have between the tire and fender.

honestly,
6 hours of measuring trial fitting and gawking will never give you the answer.

You wont know until you really wheel it
