Well after reading about it for so long I decided to try it out. I ordered it with 60, 80 tow, 80 economy, 120 race and 140 aggressive. Hopefully it will ship before they leave for smokin...
The contrast between a stock 7.3 and one with a hot dp-tune is pretty funny. Once you've been driving around in the 120 or 140 program for a week or two, switch back to stock for 10 minutes or so. You will ask yourself, "Did I ever actually drive around like this, and HOW??"
Doh! I take it back... just noticed you had a Banks chip before. At least you weren't stock.
I run mine mostly on the 80 Econ setting. No EGT issues towing my 2500 lb boat. It seems my truck likes the 80 Econ bettter than the 120 Race.
Anyone else notice the same?
Kevinpmac, I also tow a 2500 lb boat occasionally and find it is really easy to hit the 1200 mark when accelerating to get on a freeway but that is the only time it gets close to the "red zone". I have the 60 tow position on mine and actually get about 1mpg better on that setting over the 80 econo.
When you do get it, I believe it would be best to remove all the Banks stuff just so it doesn't mess with Jody's programing. I am getting close to pulling the trigger, I might get mine at Smokin since he is bringing some with him.
I got the 120 and 140 because I wanted the 140 for the ability to lay some smoke when the need arises. Which is the ultimate in efficiency.lol...
I will unhook the trans command and the chip has to come out. but I dont think that I need to remove it all. The turbo housing wheel and waste gate should be just fine.

Do you have exhaust mods?? None are listed, so if you don't, that's why you have higher EGTs...
if you don't mind me asking but why did you get both 120 and 140 setting? they seem so close. And congrats on your new purchase should be lots of fun.
Here's the thing... I had the 120 before and then added the 140. It dynoed roughly the same as the 120 on my truck, but there is an SoTP difference, IMHO. The fact that so much fuel is dumped in the beginning seems to make it stronger off the line, and you can definitely see a difference in the cloud when you get on it at various points.
I have now have stock, high idle, tow, daily/econo, street race, and extreme from Tony Wildman (basically, the last four are 60T, 80E, 120R & 140S in DP lingo), and I can still feel a difference in the last two settings with this one, too. And of course, the cloud is more impressive in extreme as well.
Installed the DP today, runs alot better now the acceleration is better and the trans shifts alot harder. Went out for a run with the banks trans command and the chip and the overdrive light was flashing. So I took it back in the shop and unhooked the trans command and took it out again and no flashing light. And on the way out of town a gmc duramax got behind me. Must have seen me pull onto the highway because they came flying up behind me. I got onto the straight stretch in the 120 race setting and they couldn't pull on me and I started to walk away from them. So we got to town and a yellow light got us side by side so we both took off and were even till second and the torque converter locked and then I jumped out ahead by a truck length.. Oh it is so much fun to just go and have fun. Sorry for the long post..
BigJake... Thats awsome.. Glad you're having fun with it.... I can't wait until I order mine... It will have to wait for a couple of months though as I have a bunch of stuff to install already with no time to do it !!!!
