Well I went a made the biggest mistake of the century, I installed my heads backwards I really dont want to tear the motor down again I have it almost complete except for the front accessories...Now the only difference that I know is the emissions exhaust hole on the side of the head is on the front now, and since I dont have a cat converter I can just ditch all the emissions stuff and plug off the hole right????
Will the factory inserts come out of the heads??? If so, how to get them out?? I have them on the back side and If I could remove them and use them in the front Ill be trouble free
Yes new gaskets are in order. Not running the engine doesn't matter. You torqued the heads down during install and crushed the gaskets to some degree and they should not be retorqued.
Well guy 5/8 is what Durk said and thats just way to big, Im thinking 1/2 threads on the outside and 7/16 on the inside, If thats wrong let me know...Where could I get an insert that size?? Or where could I get an insert in general??? Carquest maybe?? Any special tools I need to install the insert??
I would have thought the intake runners would not line up like that.
Side by Side the heads are identical, the only difference is the air pump hole on 1 side of the heads and thats facing the front on mine...Hopefully I can just get these inserts I need and this motor will be ready to drop
