Rear DVD player doesn't work

Rear DVD player doesn't work
I just noticed something about the ceiling player in my 04 EB. I've only used the aux players at this point to hook in MP3 players, laptops, and PS2's. I have never actually used the player. Well i just wanted to see how neat a DVD would be on it..and to my surprise..it don't work. 
It will play only 1 or 2 discs out of my whole collection. It won't play anything self burned, even things my gateway computer can play...and that was a 2x DVD player that cost 400$ to put in in 1997. Does something normally go wrong in them? The player would be nice to have for this summer.

JUMP ON THIS!!! it has been up on CL for a month now and no one buys it.....mabyee this will work for you....it started at $200 now it's down to $50!.. call the guy... it might be a plug and play and if you have a gray interior just use the plastic paint for interior trim at autozone.....it should look fine....

Wrecks I'll take a look at that. Mako, I would prefer not to use another one if I don't have to. It's not THAT easy of a replacement. Plus while they look similar, it does look different from my 04 unit, and on top of that, the headunits between the 02 and 03 generations changed, so plug may not be the same.
