head Gasket?
I have a rebuild 351w with about 4000 miles on it, and I am losing oil into the cooling system, but no coolant shows up in the oil. Its bad enough to where I have to add two quarts of oil or more when she is low. Can someone please tell me why I would leak one way but not the other. And how can I diagnose this problem to be a head gasket or something more serious, with a compression tester and vacume gauge. Thank you.

Hi, are you sure the oil is getting into the coolant? I have seen coolant getting into the oil before due to a head gasket problem. A head gasket could not cause your problem because the oil for the rocker arms comes from the pushrods.

yeah Im preatty sure. The oil is going somewhere and its not on the ground. I poped the cap to the radiator and its oily in there. I was wondering since the oil comes from the pump to the lifters, thru the pushrods and to the valve train, and then drains back down to the pan if I wouldnt have a pushrod problem. It seems to me that in order for the oil to be making its way to the coolant and not vis-a-versa that the preasure would have to be greater on the oil end. then again if I had a pushrod problem It would show up in valve train noise you would think. I would be grateful to any more suggestions or thoughts on this. thank you.
