302 questions

My truck has a 302 in it right now that I've never heard running. I did a compression test on it and found an average of 110psi in all the working clyinders. 1 had a stuck exhaust valve and 1 had a stuck intake (they bent the pushrods) I got new pushrods gaskets etc.. While I had the heads off I pocket ported them I didn't match the ports to the intake because it's the stock 2 Barrel and I want an alum. 4 barrel. The valves were lapped and seemed to seal better.
I have 2 questions.

1) when I get the heads, intake and everything put together.. what's a reasonable psi to not rebuild the motor ( I know they should all be within 10%)

2) I also (after putting on my heads) got a set of stock iron heads off a 79 302. the valves have alot more meat to them and stick out of the seats more than mine, also the ports are atleast 125% larger than mine, they also have stud mounted rocker arms (mine have pedestal)

would these heads be a better choice? were they made differently then?
(any other parts off the 79 I should be looking for?)
thanks you.
Ryan

Are you sure your extra heads are 302's. I think they went to fulcrum rockers in ,77. With the larger ports that you describe they might be early 351W heads. What is the casting # and what do the water holes look like on the intake manifold side. The valves sitting nice and high is a good indication they haven't been subjected a valve job.

I took a better look at them and they were big block heads the intake screws into it at an angle (not stright down)
