Not sure if any of my fellow f-150 owners are fire fighters or not. Has any of you added lights bars to your trucks was thinking of running power from light in through the third brake light ( bed light) or does anyone else have a better idea??? hate to mess truck up with holes or have wires running down over back of cab.
How about you get a STK Pro-Rack and then get the Light Bar Mount and you will be fine. The Pro Rack is no Drill install ( in most cases ).
So now you wont have to drill your roof, and your truck will also look better. I know this light bar is from the 1930's but you get the point. I have yet to see a low pro clear LED bar on one of these but i think it would look really good.
What style of light bar do you plan on putting up there? R U going to be running alley or take down lights? If you get a mini LED bar (magnet mount) with no alley or take down lights you could run the small power cord through the 3rd brake light and wire it with a switch. How do you have the rest of your lights and sirens wired up?
There have been to many postings of the 3rd light leaking. I would not want to run it through there for fear of a leak. I know that you can try to seal it up but there is still a risk. I ran the wire down the rear of my cab on my last 150. I have also seen guys run it forwards and down the windshield trim. This may work for you. Just a quick idea.
