take it to vatozone and have them scan it, then post the code here. i have OBDII Teklink scanner, and the associated software, so i can tell you what the code means, but not necessarily why it threw it. what lincoln is it, what motor, etc.?

yeah....im blind, and semi retarded...i'll admit it

Teklink says for Fords(including Lincoln), P1450: Unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum

sounds like a vacuum line somewhere got disconnected. have you done any work in the engine bay recently?

No work done to engine lightjust started flickering comeing up roberts Mt. 5% grade then the light whent out the cor acted liked pluged fuel filter. I changed the fuelfilter. test drove the car as soon as i put it under a load same thing took the car to a local shop they hooked it up to the reader $65.00 said the code read 1450 they did not have the equipment to follow up. they said it was a dealer fix. i called the dealer they said i might try a new gas cap. I did now the light stays on and the car runs like s..t still, the dealer said bring it in and for 100.00 dollars they would hook it up to there reader and the price would go up from there. I cant find a book on how to solve an excessvise vacuum problem or a list of componants in the system for a place to start. the car is a 1998 towncar 4.0L v8 75,000 miles well mantained.

i would say to check all the vacuum fittings under the hood with some spray carb cleaner, and either get the gas cap checked or replaced.(obdII has to have a certain pressure on the cap ((dont remember if it is neg or pos pressure)) to work right). fix any vacuum leaks you find. maybe somebody else that has had some similar problems will come by and chime in.
