Hey guys, I'm still learning here. Could some one describe how our fuel pumps work? I have noticed it has the fuel line going to it. the line going out to the filter, but what are the other lines that go to the front of the block for? And what exactly does the FF restriction guage do? Thanks
Also, I am told that our trucks don't have a true Injector pump. If this is true how is it different than other injector systems?
yep like the diagram shows fuel is drawn in from the fuel tank by the low pressure lift pump, then to the fuel filter, than back out to the second stage (high pressure piston) pressurized to 40-70 psi then out to the heads. The pump has two different stages or parts. One low pressure lift pump and the other is the pressure side.
Well the high pressure part of the fuel pump is all one unit. the High pressure oil pump is also in the valley at the front bolted to the back of the front cover.
