I have an '05 F 150 xl (radio but no cd). I have only 1 large 24 pin connector. Will a OEM 6 disc player, a shaker 500 or 1000 "plug & play" in my truck?
I've got the same setup with the standard radio. I got a Sony 10 disc changer that plugs into the antenna socket using an rf adapter. All you do is tune the radio to 88.3 fm (or any unused station in your area) and push play on the cd player remote. I've had it for 4 years and the sound quality is excellent. Plus it was simple to install and the whole unit only cost about 150 bucks. The main benefit is that it leaves the dashboard unchanged and the changer fits nicely behind the seat in my 04 XL reg cab. Its been a very nice setup and like i said the cd quality is excellent and it dosent affect fm sound quality either with the rf adapter that simply plugs into the antenna wire, then just plug the adapter right to the back of the radio. I installed one on my 98 Oldsmobile too.

OEM F-150/Expy/Navigator radios will plug right in. The trucks use a Audiophile system. The Shaker setup is for the Mustang. I doubt that will work with your truck
As Tylus mentioned, it will plug in. I had a single CD radio and swapped it out for the 6CD audiophile. Just plugs right in. You should also have another connector taped to the harness for a sub woofer as well. I found an oem subwoofer as well and the wiring was already there for that as well ..
